As the lock-down continues, our health workers keep fighting bravely on the front-lines to keep us all safe and to protect Malaysia from COVID-19, Malaysia has had around 4119 positive cases and over 65 deaths.
Though the situation has been brought under control to an extent, the number of positive cases still continues to rise. This poses a dilemma as the supply of medical equipment and the necessary protective equipment is falling short.Ā
Different campaigns are running to help the healthcare workers. For maximizing the impact of all donations, AIBIM has identified two main hospitals in Klang Valley i.e. Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Hospital Sg Buloh as well as one hospital in Negeri Sembilan, to supply required medical equipment and other necessary items.Ā
As of 7 April 2020, over 25% of the Covid-19 cases have been identified in Selangor, where Hospital Sungai Buloh is located. 1020 cases have been reported here already. This state has the highest number of cases in Malaysia!Ā Hospital Kuala Lumpur is located in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, that has over 16% of the cases in the country. With 671 cases, it is the 2nd state with the highest number of COVID-19 cases.Ā
Other than these 3 main hospitals, AIBIM also provides aid to other hospitals and government clinics on a case to case basis. Equipment will be supplied according to the hospitalsā requests to ensure that the donation funds are being used wisely.
As of 8th April 2020, the number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia stands at:
– Total Number of Cases: 4,119Ā
– On-going treatment: 2,567
– New cases: 156
